Requirements
Businesses are unique
It is difficult to generalise about requirements since they are invariably unique to a particular client. We have found, nonetheless, that there are some general common categories of business need:
- Short-term specialist resources to boost in-house competences
- Quantitative: to supplement the resources needed for the day-to-day running of the business, peaks and troughs in resource loading or perhaps the implementation of a large project
- Qualitative: providing specific skill areas such as sales, marketing, technical, financial, human resources
- Business development including product marketing and ‘go-to market’ strategies
- Mergers with other companies or divisions within a company
- Funding rounds
- Acquisitions
- Divestments
- Restructuring
- Outsourcing
- Rapid growth
- Unexpected challenges
- Rapidly changing circumstances e.g. Right sizing in a slump
- Acting as a sounding board in order to identify specific areas of issue or opportunity
